8 – Hunters Become the Prey

            After JC was gone, David looked at the disk.  David saw that message that was attached to the disk.  “Give me 4 months, then open the disk.”  That night JC left for his nightly routine but unlike the other days his mind was somewhere else.  He would have missed a car thief if the alarm did not go off.  Raptor had always been alert when on patrol but somehow his mind was somewhere else. 

            Raptor has been hitting every known Hunter facility ranging from chop shops, drug labs, and many others.  He made it clear to the Hunters that he is not going down with out a fight.  JC went out to his nightly routine expecting something, more specifically someone.  He was going to make himself clear to anyone and everyone.

            At one of his patrols of the city Raptor spotted Hunter 25 standing at a rooftop almost tempting him to initiate in battle.  Raptor jumped to the roof and confronted 25.  Again a hailstorm of men jumped up, but his time Raptor was ready.  Quickly he drew forth the two fighting sticks and hammered each man as they jumped towards him.  The roof was covered with unconscious bodies everywhere, Raptor then confronted 25, and after a fierce but brief battle Raptor stood in front of a half aware Hunter.

            “Whose up here?” a voiced yelled out from the fire escape.  Raptor then took off to the other direction and jumped off the roof.  Then as he disappeared another costumed figure appeared, almost wearing the same type of suit that Raptor had but it was white and with more a few changes.  He looked at 25 and raised her up.  He began to unmask her but she stopped him.  Following her wishes of privacy he stopped and helped her, but without saying a word the figure left.  The hero in white appeared more often foiling the Hunters, arriving there just a few seconds ahead of Raptor.

            It has been almost three months, and with the figure in white also going after the Hunters, JC’s job seemed a lot easier.  JC knew that by now the Hunters would not want to get on his bad side again, but he needed to make sure what happened to him will not happen to any one else who will put on the Raptor suit.  JC has traced the location of one of the Hunters headquarters, and he was ready to begin his game of “cat and mouse.”

            JC snuck in to the mansion and one by one picking off guards until he would be able to confront who ever was in charge.  That night Raptor came “equipped to the bone,” he came with as many weapons he could carry to finish his assault that very night.  In a matter of hours Raptor has managed to find his way to the figure in the black cloak.

            An alarm rang.  Yet only a few guards showed up, and with a sleeping gas canister they fell.  Now all alone he confronted the man in the cloak.

            “You stay away from me, or next time YOU WILL FALL,” said Raptor with authority.

            “You think WE will cower under an insignificant bird, but for now you have my word,” replied the man.

            For the duration of the month, Raptor did not see a crime he could connect to the Hunters.  “That was too easy” he thought to himself, so he kept a close watch.  It was now the end of the four months that he asked David to give him.
