Raptor’s Tale
1 - Beginning
A young boy stood alone a top a high pillar as a whistle blew. He jumped with bird-like grace and grabbed on to a bar, which stood above a seemingly bottomless pit. He then swung around and around gaining momentum until finally he can let go and soar over the long 15 feet gap to the other side. “A few more spins should do the trick” he though to himself, then with one last swing on the bar the young boy released his grip and launched himself high above the gap towards the other side. As his flight began to decent he quickly put his hands to his side and then pulling them out once again releasing what seemed like some sort of flaps. Now the boy's arms are fully extended and his “wings” extended and aiding him to a graceful and gentle landing.
Just as he quickly reacted to the whistle, as soon as he landed the boy ran quickly towards a series of pillars one rising higher than the other. He then vaulted himself over the first of the many pillars toward a higher one and before setting both feet upon the next pillar he leaped towards another. Pillar after pillar he ascended to what seems like gigantic steps until he had reached a high wall which stood 20 feet above the tallest of the pillars on which the boy stood upon.
Without a sound a large battering
ram swung from behind him almost taking him by surprise but at the last minute
he jumped and quickly placed both hands upon the edge of the battering ram and
vaulted himself up, then another bettering ram swung, but this time he was
ready. The boy grabbed on to it and
lifted himself up. As soon as the
battering ram reached the zenith of its swing the boy jumped off and easily reached
the top of wall.
Not knowing what to do he first landed on top the wall and looked around. He saw a clear tube facing him so he decided to jump in. As he fell, he noticed two rings quickly coming to his level as he continued to fall. He grabbed each of the rings and swung himself towards a small ledge with a small hole. He then landed and tucked in to a ball and rolled through barely fitting.
After he had stood up he saw below
him a series of bars, which then reminded him of a monkey bars and at the end
another crack in the wall noticeably smaller than the previous one which he
barely managed to fit through. He ran
across quickly stepping over each bar as he raced toward the crack in the
obstacle. He then dove, falling in what
would seem as the beginning of an Olympic style swan dive. And before he landed, he quickly did a flip
so that his back faced towards the dirt floor.
Before both feet stood on the ground
he slid through the hole and to the other side. “Pretty good” said an old voice coming from behind. “But needs improvement” he then added. Looking at his stopwatch he said “7 minutes
and thirty seconds”. He paused walked
towards the darkness, not saying another word.
“7:30!!!! But that was only my first run,” the boy said. “I have given you months to study the plans
of the course so there was no need to stop” He replied. He pointed towards the starting pillar and
said with authority “Again.!!!!!”
