Part Three:
Finale

Author’s Note: Author’s Note: Disclaimers! Except for Thaliah, Rebecca, Aria.
So, after months of waiting for some of you readers, and I am very truly
sincerely thankful for those who did that, here is the much awaited end of the
mini-stories – which I gathered from the others is not sooo mini since it’s got
chapters that ranges to 30 pages in words * sweatdrop *. I do hope that you’ve
enjoyed it. I mean, I know that some parts are too mushy through out the 5 boys
and girls stories, and this conclusion is hopefully as enjoyable as all the
others
Hilde brushed back Duo’s bangs
tenderly. ‘He looks so peaceful… so innocent when he’s sleeping…’ she thought
with a soft smile. ‘Even with that bandage on his nose, he’s still handsome…’
She couldn’t stop herself as she
leaned forward, over Duo, and delicately kissed him on the lips.
Duo’s eyes fluttered open and
stared up Hilde’s face, her eyes closed, so near to his. His shocked eyes never
left her face as she slowly moved away from him and opened her eyes.
“Oh God I’m in heaven… I’ve just
been kissed by an angel…” Duo said softly with a sigh, thinking that he’d just
died.
Hilde’s eyes widened a little
bit as she saw Duo’s violet eyes open and staring at her, then she heard what
he said and smiled down at him lovingly.
Hilde’s smile created havoc in
Duo’s brain as he stared at the white walls and white roof. “God, this is
heaven. It must be because I don’t think that Hilde will ever smile at me like
that again…” he whispered to no one in particular.
Hilde didn’t know whether to
laugh, feel flattered that he thinks she’s an angel, kiss him or get mad at
him. But she knows one thing for sure… she’s happy that he’s finally awake and
she could only utter one word…
“Duo…” she said in a whisper
love and joy echoing in her voice.
Duo closed his eyes in content.
“hmm… even her voice sounds like Hilde’s… Are you trying to torment me, God?”
At that statement Hilde shook
her head and laughed.
Duo looked up at her again with
his head tilted on one side.
“Duo, stop it! You’re not in
heaven yet…” she said with a smile…
Duo jerked himself in a sitting
position in the bed and suddenly felt nauseous, his whole surrounding swirling
around him.
“Unh!”
Hilde quickly placed an arm around
his shoulder. “Careful Duo! You can’t sit up that quickly after what happened
to you!” she said in a reprimanding, yet soft voice.
She gently helped him back on
the bed and looked down at the grimace on his face.
“See… You’re just too impulsive
sometimes!” Hilde started scolding him softly, as if a child.
After blinking a couple of times
more to get his vision to focus, Duo stared at Hilde…
“Hilde…?”
Hilde smiled as she nodded,
“Yes, its me…”
“How…?… When…?… You’re talking
to me!”
Hilde’s hand went over to one of
Duo’s hands and held it as she looked deeply into his confused violet eyes.
“Silly Duo… Of course I am… Why
shouldn’t I?”
The confused look didn’t leave
Duo’s face as he gazed up at her. “You… you said that you hated me…” he said in
a seemingly boyish tone of voice.
Hilde pulled the chair she was
sitting on a while ago nearer to Duo, sat on it and leaned her head on his
hand, her eyes never straying away from Duo’s face.
“I’m sorry I said that… I didn’t
mean it… I was just angry… I don’t think I could ever hate you, Duo…” she said
softly.
Duo’s eyes brightened and he
felt the heaviness he’s been feeling for the past few days go away as he sighed
in content.
His hand tightened around
Hilde’s hand as he started talking. “I’m so happy you said that… I’m really
sorry about what happened… really…”
Hilde nodded, “I know… I know
Duo… don’t worry about it. I’m not mad about it anymore…”
Duo shook his head carefully.
“No… You don’t understand… What I’m trying to say is that I trust you Hilde and
I didn’t mean the things I said…” he looked away from her. “I was jealous… I
couldn’t take it that you might…” Duo breathed in deeply to regain his
composure, “Dammit! This is harder than I thought!” he muttered.
Hilde frowned in confusion, but
waited patiently for him to continue.
Duo closed his eyes, trying to
still his haywire nerves, then looked up at Hilde in the eyes, “I love you,
Hilde… and I can’t take it that you might not feel the same way about me…”
Tears came to Hilde’s eyes…
Those three words that she’s been longing to hear from his mouth for such a
long time, finally said…
Her tears fell one by one as she
stood up and hugged Duo around the waist.
“Oh Duo… Don’t you know that I
feel the same way…?” She looked up and saw the look of surprise on his
expressive face.
“Surprised?” she asked with a
smile, “You shouldn’t be… I stuck with you for a long time because I love you
very much…” she said softly.
Duo felt true happiness flow
through him as he pulled her upwards for a kiss. “Hilde…”
His nose bumped against her and
he grimaced as he cried out in pain.
“Ow!!!”
Hilde jerked back at his
exclamation, then looked on as his hands went up to his nose and gently felt
the bandage… She could see how his eyes went wide and questioning and how his
fingers kept going over it… then he looked up at her-
“What in the heck is this?!!!”
Hilde’s laughter rang out. “A bandage,
Duo…” In between giggles,
she tried to apologize, “It’s all my fault… I’m sorry… I didn’t know that you
were behind the door…” and another batch of giggles escaped her…
Duo looked panicked, “How can I
kiss you with this thing on my nose?!” he wailed out loud.
Hilde tried to suppress her
giggles as she hugged Duo once again then tilted her head sideways.
“Like this…” she whispered, just
a hairs breadth away, and kissed him full on the lips.
She felt Duo’s lips smile under
hers then his arms around her waist, hugging her closer to his body and she
sighed blissfully.

Quatre knocked softly on
Rebecca’s door.
“Come in…”
He opened the door and saw
Rebecca sitting on the bed, fiddling with a pen and looking quite very sad.
Quatre smiled falteringly while walking towards her, holding the sketchbook
behind him.
Rebecca gave her a curious look…
Aria and the others just went out to eat dinner, and they’re going to bring her
back some food… but she didn’t know that Quatre didn’t come with them…
“Er… One of my men just told me
that they found this in the shuttle… and brought it to me.” Quatre started to
say as he slowly brought the book in front of him.
Rebecca’s eyes widened and a
look of disbelief went through her. “You have it…!” she exclaimed as she jumped
down from the bed and held the sketchbook, fingering it lightly. “I thought
I’ve lost it forever…” she whispered.
Quatre smiled at Rebecca’s
actions… ‘I guess it is hers…’ Trying to create a conversation, he looked at
the sketchbook curiously.
“May I look at some of your
work?”
Rebecca’s head jerked up as she
hugged her sketchbook involuntarily. Quatre noticed her response and knew that
whatever is in that book is private.
“Well… It’s okay if you’d rather
not let me look at it yet.” He said with a smile, understanding her.
Rebecca looked away.
“I’ll just go and join the
others. Do you want any specific food that we could bring up to you?”
Rebecca shook her head, “None…
Thank you.”
Quatre started to walk to the
door. “Alright then… if you need any of us, we’re just in the restaurant called
Genghis Khan. And you have the list of our phone numbers.” And with that last
sentence he closed the door behind him.
Rebecca looked at her
sketchbook, then at the pen on her bed. Without a word, she opened it to a new
page and started drawing the faces of the new people she’d just met…

The next day:
Trowa stared at Thaliah’s closed
door… He’s been waiting since 6 in the morning, sitting on the bench at the
edge of the park, facing her house… And now, it’s past ten…
There’s still no sign of
Thaliah…but he’ll wait… He’ll wait the whole day if he needs too…
Trowa adjusted the dark glasses
over the bridge of his nose and pulled the midnight blue cap lower over his
face, trying to hide his features from passing pedestrians who are talking
quite animatedly about what they’ve seen on newspapers and magazines, or the
news on the television…
His eyes quickly looked over at
the dozen tulips he’d bought Thaliah and softly muttered his thanks that they
weren’t wilted yet.
Trowa was about to buy a dozen
red roses, when he remembered that Thaliah had once told him that her favorite
flowers are tulips… So, he bought red tulips instead…
Suddenly, a movement in the
direction of the houses caught Trowa’s attention and his gaze fell on her house
immediately.
He saw her open the door with a
basket hooked in her left arm, kick the newspaper inside- Trowa grimaced- and
then lock her door.
Trowa bit his lip… ‘Well… it’s
now or never…’ he stood up and started walking towards Thaliah, trying to keep
his pace normal.
He finally reached her, without
her noticing him and he tapped her on her shoulder.
Thaliah turned around and her
eyes widened as she saw Trowa… A pained frown appeared on her face as she
looked away, “Trowa please…” she said as she turned and started walking away
from him, her pace faster.
Trowa didn’t have to run with
his long legs and quick feet he was beside her at once.
“Thaliah, please… won’t you give
me just a few minutes…?” Trowa pleaded, for the first time in a long time.
Thaliah couldn’t stop herself as
she closed her eyes and complied.
Trowa looked behind her and
smiled suddenly… ‘Lady Luck… thank you…’ he thought as he saw that they’ve
stopped before an electronics shop with rows of television on the display
window, and the channel set on a news station. He checked his watch once again
and saw that he needed two minutes more before the next one shows up…
Thaliah looked up at Trowa… this
is the first time she’s ever seen him in this ensemble… jeans, dark glasses and
a cap…?
She slipped her basket onto her
other arm as she waited for Trowa to speak, “Well…?” she asked, trying to keep
her voice steady even if her heartbeat is already erratic…
Trowa looked at her, panicked…
What should he do…? His hands turned to fists as he tried to think and he heard
a crumpling sound…
He looked down at the dozen
tulips and smiled… ‘Of course…’
“I… I wanted to give you these…”
Trowa said as he handed the flowers to Thaliah.
Thaliah swallowed as she took
the flowers, “Thank you…” Her eyes pricked with tears as she saw that it was
tulips… ‘He remembered…’
Placing it in her basket she
faced Trowa once again, trying to be strong… “Is that all…?”
Trowa didn’t answer as he
glanced at the television sets… ‘Where is it…?!’ he thought in panic…
Thaliah turned around when Trowa
didn’t answer. “Well… thank you for the flowers anyway… Trowa…”
Trowa’s calm shattered. ‘No!
Wait!’ his mind cried out… suddenly the television shifted reporters…
“And now, for our very special
announcement… I just love these things… can you believe that a person would
actually do this…?” the woman asked the man beside her.
The man smiled, “Pure romance
everyone…”
Trowa nodded, ‘Alright! Alright!
Get on with it!’ his mind shouted. He saw Thaliah take a couple of steps
forward and his hand reached out to stop her.
“Thaliah, wait…” he said
nervously.
Thaliah turned around. She needs
to get away from him… or else she’s going to break down again! She’d already
cried last night… she doesn’t want to do that again…
“Trowa… it seems like you don’t
have anything more to say… Please… I have errands to do…” she said as she
stepped away from Trowa’s hold.
Suddenly she jerked to a stop
and frowned in confusion…
Trowa smiled slightly…
She could hear Trowa talking…
but his lips aren’t… moving…! And his voice seemed to be coming to her… left…?
“I would like to announce to the
whole world that I am in love with a woman… I’m not sure what I did to make her
turn away from me… but what I do know is that I can’t live without her…”
Thaliah gulped as her eyes
widened… ‘It… couldn’t be…!’
“Thaliah Locklin, (Thaliah
jerked as if she pricked herself with a needle at the sound of her name…) I
love you very much… I can’t shout it the way you can… But I do hope, that in my
own way, you will see how I shout out my feelings for you…”
Thaliah finally let her eyes
slowly stray to her left, and she saw Trowa’s face in close up at the rows of
television sets on the display window…
Her voice caught in her throat,
her whole body became numb and she couldn’t speak…
Then Trowa’s picture was
replaced by the two reporters once again.
“There you have it folks! The
age of romanticism is not dead yet…” said the man.
“Yes, and whoever you are,
Thaliah Locklin, you’re one lucky woman!” the woman added.
But Thaliah wasn’t listening to
what they are saying instead, she’s staring at Trowa who took off his glasses,
though not his hat…
Trowa could see the surprise and
disbelief in her eyes and he prayed that he’d done the right thing…
“Thaliah…” he said once again.
Thaliah slowly shook her head as
she held up her hand to stop him. “Trowa… say it again…” she whispered softly
that Trowa almost didn’t hear her.
He took a step to her and
brought his hand to her face, cupping her cheek while Thaliah stilled herself,
not wanting to betray her feelings for this man, less what she heard was just a
dream…
“Thaliah Locklin-” Trowa started
but was cut off by Thaliah, placing a finger on his mouth.
“Just Thaliah, please…” she said
in that whisper once again…
Trowa nodded once and swallowed,
feeling nervous… He had wanted to tell her that he loved her that day when he
found out that she had left… Had wanted to tell her in person… and now, there’s
not a better chance…
“Thaliah, I love you very, very
much.” Trowa said with as much conviction and love as he could…
He saw Thaliah’s eyes brim with
tears that trailed slowly down her cheek as she smiled.
“Oh Trowa…” she said as she
stepped forward and flung her arms around his waist, feeling at last that her
whole world is back in its place.
Trowa’s arm wrapped around her
body, hugging her fiercely since he had thought that he would never again feel
her in his arms…
“Thaliah… never leave me again…”
he whispered to her ear as he kissed her brown hair. “When I went over to your
house the next day, ready to tell you how I feel about you, then saw your
landlady putting that for rent sign in front of your apartment… my whole world
crashed…”
Thaliah stirred in his embrace
and Trowa loosened his hold as she placed a space between them and looked up at
him in confusion.
“What do you mean, Trowa?” she
asked, her heart beating faster…
“I mean,” he started to say as
he looked straight into her eyes, “that I was about to tell you I love you when
I suddenly learnt that you’d left me… And then when I couldn’t find you! My
heart was torn! Grayson couldn’t help me… the school records all showed
Relena’s information instead of yours… and you have no data in the computer’s
security identification records… I couldn’t find you!”
Thaliah shook her head… “B-but I
thought… I thought that you wanted me out of your life…!”
Trowa frowned, “What gave you
that idea?”
Thaliah looked away.
“Thaliah…?” Trowa prodded,
wanting to get to the bottom of what forced them apart…
In a small voice, Thaliah
answered, “I… I was walking through the park and heard someone playing a
flute…”
Trowa stilled… he knew perfectly
well what happened that day…
“I listened behind the trees,
not wanting to disturb the player, and when the music stopped, I looked and saw
you… And you…” Thaliah’s voice faltered as she remembered that day.
Trowa hugged her once again,
knowing exactly what he said and what she could have thought. “I’m sorry
Thaliah… I didn’t mean it… I’m sorry…”
He could feel her nod against
her chest… God! He doesn’t want to let her go!
Suddenly, he remembered
something… with his arms still around her, he asked her a question, “Thaliah…
how come your name wasn’t in the security information records…?”
Thaliah’s eyes widened and she
bit her lip… ‘The truth… he’s got to find out sometime…’ she thought as she
pushed herself away from him… She was about to speak when Trowa’s portable
phone started ringing.
He gave her an apologetic smile
and signaled for her to wait while he took the phone and turned it on.
“Trowa here…”
“Trowa, it’s Quatre… Sally’s
here.”
He didn’t need any more
prompting as he quickly said goodbye and faced Thaliah, forgetting about his
question.
“Thaliah, would you like to come
with me…? A friend of ours just came, and she’s at the hospital visiting
another friend…”
Thaliah nodded, not knowing
whether to be relieved that she’s been spared more time… or be more nervous…
“Okay, let’s go…” Trowa said as
he reached for her hand, looked at their entwined fingers and smiled.
Thaliah smiled also as she
stared at it then at Trowa, then they started walking to the hospital, happy
that they’re finally together…

Quatre pushed the others to the
nursing office, “Come on you guys! Can’t you walk any faster! You’re going to
miss it!”
Duo grimaced, “Quatre! What is
it anyway?!”
Heero nodded, “Yes… What’s the
big secret?”
Quatre shook his head, “I won’t
say… You just have to see it for yourself…” he glanced at his watch. “And it’s
nearly time! Come on! Hustle!!!”
Aria, Hilde and Relena laughed
and helped Quatre push the boys. They finally reached the office and Quatre
made them sit in front of the television.
“Er… you’re gonna make us watch
tv?” Duo asked, confused.
“You brought us down here to
watch tv?” Heero said at the same time.
Quatre nodded, “Yep…” He glanced
at his watch one last time then turned on the power button…
Two reporters showed up.
“Yuck! News!” Duo complained.
Heero smiled… ‘Well, he’s back
to his old self again…Finally!’
Hilde jabbed him with her elbow
and Duo hushed up.
“We’ve got an amazing story for
you today…” the man started
“Totally unique and I’m sure
that everyone will love this…” the woman said, all smiles, “Well, I did..”
The five in front of the
television frowned while Quatre smiled.
Suddenly, Trowa’s face was on
the tv.
Everyone frowned in confusion.
Trowa started to talk.
“I would like to announce to
the whole world that I am in love with a woman… I’m not sure what I did to make
her turn away from me… but what I do know is that I can’t live without
her…Thaliah Locklin, I love you very much… I can’t shout it the way you can…
But I do hope, that in my own way, you will see how I shout out my feelings for
you…”
Duo’s jaw dropped at what he
heard, even Heero’s eyes were as wide as saucers while Relena and Hilde were
frowning, knowing that the Trowa they used to know would never do a thing like
this, while Aria is the only one smiling, touched by what Trowa had just said-
not really knowing that it’s totally out of character.
Quatre turned off the television
and faced the others.
“Well…? What do you think?” he
asked excitedly.
Nobody answered for a while then
Duo spoke up.
“Wa-was that Trowa I saw or some
evil twin of his…?”
Even Hilde agrees with Duo… She
just learned about Trowa’s situation a while ago from Relena’s quick summary…
and now this…?
Quatre smiled. “Yes, Duo… That
was Trowa.”
Heero blinked a couple of times
before he was able to speak. “I…” he coughed since his voice sounded hoarse
then looked up at Quatre. “Was that what you two did last night after we ate?”
Quatre nodded, “It was Trowa’s
plan so he can get that Thaliah Locklin’s attention…”
Relena jerked… Did she just hear
Quatre say ‘that Thaliah Locklin’…? ‘Don’t tell me that he doesn’t…’ she
didn’t finish her thought as Quatre started talking once again.
“If that doesn’t get Thaliah
Locklin’s attention… I don’t know what will! But if worse comes to worse, I’ll
get one of my maganacs to kidnap her and have Trowa rescue her… Nobody can
resist a knight in shining armor…”
Aria grinned, “Yeah right!” she
teased at Quatre who blushed.
Hilde noticed Relena’s shocked
expression. “Relena…” she whispered, “What’s wrong…?”
Relena couldn’t believe it!!!
Quatre doesn’t know that Thaliah’s his sister?! He doesn’t know what he’s
talking about- making a maganac kidnap his own sister! Oh God! Why didn’t
Thaliah tell him?!!!
She suddenly felt someone shaking
her and looked at Hilde.
“Relena?”
Relena swallowed, her eyes still
wide, “Yes?”
“What’s wrong?”
Relena shook her head, “I don’t
know if it’s bad yet or going to be worse…” she whispered vaguely… ‘Thaliah…
you’re going to have to do a lot of explaining very soon…’ she thought as her
mind drifted to her best friend.
She could hear Duo saying,
probably for the fifth time,
“Man! I can’t believe that dude
did that! Talk about fallin’ in love…”

They walked back up to Wufei’s
room, Relena, Hilde, Duo and Heero still slightly shocked.
One look at their faces and
Rebecca knew something had happened… She glanced at Aria who was the only one
smiling at the moment and tilted her head in question.
Aria shook her head and mouthed,
‘Later’
Rebecca nodded as she turned
back to Wufei while hugging her sketchbook.
“How is he..?” Aria asked
softly.
Rebecca sighed, “Still the
same…”
She stood up and started to walk
to the door, making an excuse. “I’m going to see if there’s a pencil around
here I could borrow…” She’d been drawing Wufei’s face while they were gone.
But halfway through the room,
the door burst open and an auburn haired woman stood in front of them, wearing
casual clothes with a seemingly army type vest on top of her shirt.
Rebecca frowned.
The woman saw her then her gaze
went quickly over the shadowed faces of the people around the room.
“Hey everyone!” she said in a
low yet soft voice, serious yet soothing.
“Hi Sally!” Hilde said while
Heero nodded.
“Sally! Hey girl! How’s it
been!” Duo greeted.
Quatre smiled at her, “Hey
Sally! Glad to have you aboard.”
Her name echoed through
Rebecca’s mind and she seemed frozen in her place.
Relena was the first to notice
as she placed her hand to her mouth, realizing what it would be for her if she
were in Rebecca’s shoes…
Rebecca lost her hold on her
sketchbook and it fell on the ground, opening on the floor.
Sally smiled and quickly went to
Rebecca’s frozen body, kneeled down and pick up the sketchbook, “Here let me
help you…”
Rebecca could only stare at her
as she saw ‘Sally’ see her drawings then… stilled.
Sally looked up with a frown on
her face then looked back down on the sketchbook. She stood up and faced
Rebecca.
“Do you know who this is…?” she
asked pointing at Des’ picture.
Rebecca nodded dazedly. “Yes…”
“What’s his name?”
Rebecca gulped.
Everyone stared in confusion and
curiosity at how Sally was questioning Rebecca…
“Desmond Neill, but-” she didn’t
finish her sentence as Sally finished it for her.
“But he doesn’t like being
called Desmond so he’s called Des…” she said with a slight smile.
Rebecca nodded, now more numb
than ever… ‘Does this girl know every single person she loves…?!’
Sally looked down at the picture
with a wistful look, “You caught his features correctly… I remember that square
jaw quite distinctly…”
Rebecca didn’t answer.
“Sally, what’s this about?”
Heero finally asked and everyone nodded.
Sally didn’t answer him as she
asked Rebecca another question, “Are you…” she frowned as she tried to
remember. “.. .Becka…or is it Becky?”
“Becky…” Rebecca answered… How
did this woman know her…?
“Your brother was a great
soldier… You should be proud of him.”
Rebecca nodded, “I am…”
Then Sally bit her lip and
smiled apologetically. “I’m sorry… I didn’t introduce myself… I’m Dr. Sally
Poe.”
Rebecca stared at it… Poe… her
name sounded familiar… Then she remembered… The name of the woman doctor who
called her uncle to tell him that Des had died!
Sally didn’t miss the look of
recognition on Rebecca’s face and she nodded, “Yes… I’m the one who called
about Des’ death… I’m sorry that I couldn’t come to the funeral… But I was busy
trying to track down the families of the other soldiers who died…”
Rebecca nodded, dumbstruck.
“Sally! What is this about?!”
Heero finally demanded.
Sally looked over at him and
smiled, “Sorry Heero… You see, Des was a member of one of my rebel troops in
China… And he gave his life to save Wufei…”
The others gave a look of
disbelief…
“What the… Rebecca, what’s with
your family always saving Wufei?” Duo asked, not able to contain it in him.
Rebecca shook her head. “I… I
don’t know what you mean…” she said in confusion.
Sally suddenly looked grim as
she remembered that day in China. “Wufei wasn’t feeling… up to Nataku’s level…
He didn’t feel that he was a good enough fighter and he started to loose hope
that he might ever fly his gundam again…”
Relena gasped… ‘Too late! Sally
just told her!’
Rebecca’s frown deepened.
“Gundam…?”
Sally nodded, “Yes… Des ran in
front of Wufei as a hail of bullets from one of the mobile suits fired, saving
Wufei’s life… And his last wish was that Wufei should fight once again for the
sake of every one… that made Wufei go back inside his Gundam to fight… Des gave
him his trust and Wufei needed that trust…”
Rebecca couldn’t believe it…
Wufei? A gundam pilot? And her brother had saved Wufei?
“Well… the favor has been
repayed… I can assure you that…” Rebecca said softly, “Wufei has saved me from
physical death also…”
But Sally didn’t really listen
to Rebecca as she looked one last time at Des’ picture. “Could I look at the
others?” she asked.
Rebecca didn’t answer and Sally
took that as a yes…
She flipped to the page after
Des and smiled, “You really have talent…”
Everyone could only stare at
what’s happening in front of them. Sally is completely ignoring Wufei!
Then Sally stopped at another
page.
“Wow! Nataku looks so beautiful
in this one!” she exclaimed with such praise.
Rebecca jerked.. Twice she had
heard the name Nataku from this woman… ‘and she’s actually saying that I have a
picture of Nataku?’ Rebecca thought angrily.
“Who is Nataku!” she finally
cried out.
Sally looked up from the page,
finally noticing everyone’s stare and Rebecca’s reigned frustration.
“You don’t know Nataku? But you
have a picture of it.”
‘It..?’ Rebecca repeated.
Sally turned the page around and
showed Rebecca’s drawing of the Gundam 5, standing tall amid the trees…
“That is Nataku… Wufei’s
gundam…”
Rebecca gulped and her legs
suddenly became wobbly… Quatre quickly reached her and placed an arm around her
waist. “Are you alright Rebecca?”
Rebecca nodded faintly. Sally
quickly went to Rebecca’s other side, putting her arm over Rebecca’s shoulder.
“Is there another room?” she
asked quickly.
Quatre nodded, “Just in front.”
The others could hear quite
distinctly as Sally questioned Quatre,
“Has she eaten already?… Has she
been sleeping alright…Has she been…?”
Heero turned to the others and
saw that they have the same surprised face as he does…
“I don’t know what happened… don’t
ask me…” Duo slowly said as he stared from Wufei to the door.

“No Sally, she hasn’t been
sleeping well. She’s been worried sick about Wufei. No Sally, she just drank
juice this morning and it isn’t lunch yet… She couldn’t eat…” Quatre answered patiently.
Sally nodded. “Well, that only
means that she needs rest…” she said as she helped Quatre place Rebecca on the
bed.
“Becky, I want you to rest,
okay? It wouldn’t be too good if you aren’t well.”
“Especially when Wufei wakes
up.” Quatre added.
Sally gave a questioning glance
at Quatre who motioned with his hands that he’ll tell her later.
Rebecca nodded, “Yeah… I-I think
I do need a little rest…” she said brokenly, her eyes already drifting close,
but she forced it to open and hold Sally’s arm.
“Thank you for telling me about
Des and Nataku….” Then she was asleep.
Sally and Quatre silently left
the room, leaving Rebecca dreaming of when she was around the age of 14,
playing around the Feltex woods and then she saw a gundam, fighting mobile dolls…
She knew then that the gundam was a friend, even if it was fighting… The gundam
was green and white, with one hand that seemed like a dragon, fighting
beautifully…

“Okay Quatre, what did you mean
by that little comment ‘especially when Wufei wakes up’?
Quatre sighed, “Sally, why are
you in such a questioning mood today?”
That stopped Sally as she was
about to open Wufei’s door. “Sorry Quatre… But you see, whenever I’m nervous, I
ask questions… Heero just called me last night and told me that Wufei’s been
through some sort of accident and that he needs me here to clear something out…
Quatre, what did happen?”
Quatre sighed, “Open the door
Sally… Maybe the others can tell you while I go and try to contact Trowa…”
Sally came inside and Quatre
popped his head in, “Hey guys, could you tell Sally what’s been going on…
Especially about Rebecca and Wufei… I want to call Trowa…”
Heero nodded. “Go on Quatre.”
Then faced Sally.
“Rebecca and Wufei…?” Sally
asked incredulously… She stared as the others all nodded their agreement… Then
her gaze stopped at a very familiar short blonde haired girl…
“I think I might need to sit
down…” she said, her voice strained as she grabbed a chair… “Start with why
Relena isn’t dead…”
Heero smiled… he was wondering
when Sally would notice that Relena isn’t dead…

Trowa and Thaliah reached the
hospital… They boarded the elevator and got out at the right floor, but before
Trowa could take a walk, Thaliah stopped him.
“Er… Trowa, I’m going to go to
the ladies room first, okay?”
Trowa smiled down at her. He
still can’t believe that they’re together now! “Just be sure that you won’t
leave me behind again…” he warned and Thaliah smiled.
“Nope!” she tiptoes up and
kissed him quickly on the lips then headed down the other direction.
“I’m in room B417.” Trowa added
to Thaliah who glanced over to him and signaled okay.
Trowa quickly went to the other
hallway and saw Quatre pacing outside. When Quatre finally saw him, he sighed
in relief.
“Trowa! So, how did it go?” he
asked, hopeful, “I’ve been a nervous wreck since this morning!”
Trowa didn’t say anything as a
slow smile started to form on his face, becoming wider.
Quatre didn’t need any words as
he punched the air above him, “Yes!!! I’m so happy for you!!!”
“Thanks Quatre… Really… I mean,
if it wasn’t for your sisters and your influence… I couldn’t possibly have done
this.”
Quatre shook his head, “Don’t
worry about it… We wanted to help…. So, when are we going to see this
mysterious Thaliah Locklin?”
Trowa smiled wider, “Soon… very
soon… she’s actually here.”
Quatre quickly looked behind
Trowa, “Where?”
“Don’t worry, she’ll be here…
I’m just going to check how Sally’s doing in there…” he was about to open the
door when he stopped.
“Nothing has happened… has
there…?” he asked, remembering how Wufei had said Sally’s name and Nataku in
front of Rebecca.
Quatre sighed, “Because of
Sally, Rebecca now knows that Wufei is a Gundam pilot and that Nataku is his
Gundam… But, I think it’s all for the best… Not to mention that Rebecca’s older
brother saved Wufei before and was under Sally’s command…”
Trowa frowned.
“I’ll tell you later… Right now,
I need to go to the restroom…” Quatre quickly said.
Trowa laughed and nodded, “Okay,
I’ll be waiting in here.” And he went inside while Quatre walked to the other
hallway, to the restrooms and went inside.

A moment later, the two doors,
opposite each other, opened at the same time, and two figures emerged, nearly
bumping into each other…
“Oh! Excuse me…”
“Pardon me…”
The two looked up at the
familiar voices, then a smile formed on their faces.
“Quatre!!!”
“Thaliah!!!”
They hugged each other and let
go, looking at each other’s face for any difference.
“I missed you bro!” Thaliah said
with a grin.
“I missed you more, big sis!!!”
Quatre replied with a smile.
“When did you come back?” they
both asked at the same time, then laughed.
“I came back 5 days ago.” Quatre
answered first.
Thaliah frowned, “Really? I came
back 6 days ago but they said you were at a plant and no one really told me
that you were back…”
Quatre smiled nervously, “I was
on a project… And a friend of mine is in critical condition… we’re still
waiting for him to wake up…
Thaliah’s face became sad, “Oh…
That’s too bad… I do hope that he’s okay…”
“What about you? What happened
to your guy?” Quatre teased.
He noticed the blush on
Thaliah’s cheek and laughed. “Thaliah is blushing! Thaliah is blushing!” he
sang in a soft voice, using the melody he used to tease her with.
Thaliah just smiled, not biting
the bait, “Everything is fine between us…”
Quatre laughed, “That’s good…
So, when can I meet this guy? I don’t even know his name yet!”
Thaliah’s smile widened, “Oh…
You’ll meet him soon… And I’m sure that you’re going to love him!”
Quatre suddenly became serious,
“I better and he better be good to you or else I’ll make him suffer…”
Thaliah pouted, “Hey! Be nice,
Quatre!”
Quatre smiled suddenly, “Guess
what…” he said in that ‘I-have-a-secret’ voice he uses.
Thaliah leaned forward, “What?”
Quatre’s smile widened, “I’m
engaged…”
Thaliah’s jaw dropped, “What?!”
Quatre started counting to five.
‘1…

3…
4…
5…’
“HOW COME I NEVER KNEW ABOUT
THIS?!!! QUATRE! I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU KEPT THIS A SECRET FROM ME!!! HOW COULD
YOU!!!”
Quatre smiled… Her outburst is
right on time…
“Well, it’s your fault for not
calling all those Saturdays that you promised to call… not to mention that you
were supposed to be home nearly 2 weeks ago and you delayed your schedule.”
Thaliah grinned guiltily…
“Ooops…?”
Quatre laughed, “Ooops is
right!”
Thaliah opened her arms, “Come
here! I want to give you a hug, then I want to meet this girl!”
Quatre complied, missing his
favorite sister’s hug. “I really missed you, Thaliah…”
“Same here, Quatre…”
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!”
The two suddenly jumped apart as
they heard Trowa’s booming shout.
Quatre saw Aria and Trowa
standing in front of them… Aria looking confused while Trowa looked utterly
mad…
Thaliah could only see how Trowa
looked angry… and who’s that girl beside him…?
Trowa looked in disbelief at
Quatre then at Thaliah… He was inside that room, waiting and becoming anxious
when he finally decided to look for her, and Aria came along to look for
Quatre… and they found them hugging each other!
Trowa repeated his question,
this time his voice was lower, utter jealousy surging through his blood, “What.
Is. Going. On?!!!”
Quatre looked confused… ‘Why is
Trowa so mad?’ He was about to speak when Thaliah placed a restraining hand on
his arm. He looked at her and she shook her head. He knew that she wanted to be
the one to talk, so he kept quiet.
Thaliah drew away her hand from
Quatre’s arm and drew in a calming breath… ‘He’s got to know sooner or later…
and now, he needs to know…”
“Trowa Barton, meet Quatre
Winner.”
Trowa and Quatre looked at each
other with questions in their eyes then looked at Thaliah.
Thaliah frowned… ‘Why are they
looking at me like that…?’
“I already know Quatre.” Trowa
said with that frown.
“I already know Trowa too…”
Quatre nodded.
Then Trowa turned on Quatre,
“What were you doing hugging Thaliah?!”
Quatre frowned, ‘What’s wrong
with hugging a sister…?’ he asked himself… “What’s wrong with hugging Thaliah?”
he asked instead.
Aria sighed in relief as she
heard the name Thaliah… ‘She’s his sister… Thank God!’ she thought, her
jealousy easing down into excitement. Finally she could meet one of Quatre’s
sisters!
Thaliah dropped her face into
her hands. ‘This is not going on well… Their first meeting is a disaster!’
Thaliah thought in depression.
Aria walked up to Thaliah,
ignoring the two boys who were engaged in a staring contest with each other.
She tapped Thaliah’s shoulder and decided to introduce herself.
Thaliah looked up and saw a
stunning Asian woman in front of her…
“Hi there, my name is Aria… I’m
so happy to finally meet you Thaliah…”
Thaliah smiled weakly, “Hi Aria…
I’m sorry, but I don’t think I know you…”
Aria smiled, “That’s okay… Er..
I’m not sure if Quatre already told you… but I’m engaged to him…”
Thaliah’s bright smile appeared.
“Oh!!! Oh gosh!! Well! It is a pleasure to know you Aria! I’m so happy that
Quatre finally found someone!”
Aria blushed, “Thanks…”
Trowa and Quatre looked at the
two women who were talking as if they didn’t exist and Trowa couldn’t take it
any more! He needs his questions to be answered!
“Thaliah! Why were you hugging
Quatre?”
Thaliah finally faced Trowa with
an impatient look, “Are you ready to listen?”
Trowa didn’t answer and Thaliah
took it as a yes.
Thaliah went between Quatre and
Trowa, grabbed Quatre’s arm and faced Trowa.
“Trowa, I want you to meet
Quatre (she saw the look of impatience in his eyes and she quickly added the
important part.) – my brother…”
Trowa stilled, staring at the
couple infront of him… ‘Thaliah’s brother… is … Quatre…?’ he asked himself
incredulously…
Quatre looked at Thaliah with a
frown, “Thaliah, could you possibly tell me what is going on?”
Thaliah took a deep breath and
let it out. “Quatre, that’s Trowa Barton… ‘my guy’ as you so colorfully said.”
Quatre’s jaw dropped as he
stared at Trowa then at his sister then back at Trowa… ‘Thaliah Locklin is… my
sister… Thaliah Winner…?’
Aria came up to Thaliah who was
looking from one man to the other.
“I think they’re both in shock…”
she said as she reached Thaliah.
Thaliah looked at her, confused
at his brother’s reaction and at Trowa’s, “You think..?”
The girls looked at both guys
and saw them blink at the same time and start to move…
“Trowa…?” Quatre asked
incredulously at the same time that Trowa spoke his name.
“Quatre…?”
The two stared at each other and
Thaliah is completely at a loss as to what is going on…
“This is unbelievable…” Trowa
said softly…
“I can’t believe this…” Quatre
said at the same time…
“You didn’t tell me that you
were teaching at the same university that Thaliah was!”
“I didn’t know that she was your
sister!”
Then, the two friends looked at
each other once again and a smile started to form on their faces, slowly
turning into wide grins…
“I’m getting confused…” Thaliah
said as she rubbed her temple.
Quatre faced her, “Thaliah…
remember when I told you that one of my gundam pilot friends plays the flute
and that he’s like a big brother to me…?”
Thaliah nodded, then stopped…
‘Trowa plays the flute…’
“You’re that gundam
pilot?! Heavy Arms pilot?!” she suddenly exclaimed.
Trowa nodded, “Er… guilty…”
Quatre laughed some more. “No
wonder you fell for him!!! Heavy Arms was always your favorite gundam anyways,
so it figures!”
He turned to Trowa in fits of
laughter, “Hehehe… No wonder you became fatter, Trowa! You had Thaliah with you
all this time!” Quatre teased.
Trowa shook his head with that
silly grin still on his face, “Look who’s talking, chipmunk!”
The girls quickly defended their
men, each going to their side.
“Hey! Trowa isn’t fat! He just
gained a teensy weensy weight… And he’s just perfect!” Thaliah announced as her
hand went around Trowa’s waist possessively.
Trowa blushed.
“And Quatre isn’t a chipmunk!
Those cheeks are just soo adorable!!!” Aria said as she squeezed them softly
and kissed him quickly on the lips.
Quatre turned beet red.
The two girls looked at each
other and laughed at Trowa and Quatre’s reaction.
Then, Quatre frowned suddenly,
“Wait a minute… Thaliah… What is up with that Locklin name!!! Do you know that
you almost made Trowa crazy trying to look for you? Not to mention what will
the others say when they hear that you’re Thaliah Locklin?”
Thaliah blushed… “Er… uhmm.. the
name… ahh…”
Quatre smiled, “Wow! This is the
first time I’ve seen you run out of words!” he teased.
Thaliah pouted while Trowa spoke
up…
“Maybe Rena can help…”
Thaliah quickly looked up.
“Rena..? I don’t know anybody named Rena…”
Trowa and Quatre exchanged
secretive glances.
“Now it’s our turn to surprise
you…” Trowa said softly to Thaliah while Quatre and Aria smiled.

They reached the room and opened
it.
Heero, Sally, Relena, Duo and
Hilde all looked up at the newcomers…
“Hey guys… we’re back..!” Quatre
exclaimed while he held on to Aria’s hand and walked away from Trowa.
The five that was left in the
room stared at Trowa and Thaliah while Thaliah just stared at one person…
Relena couldn’t stop herself as
she stood up. “Thaliah! How could you do this! I mean, I thought you were going
to tell Quatre at least about what we did!”
Thaliah still stared at Relena
while Trowa closed the door before anyone else could hear.
“Relena…?” she asked in a
whisper…
“Yes! Wow! You remembered me!”
Relena said almost sarcastically… “The things you made me do!!! I couldn’t even
tell Trowa that you’re Quatre’s sister and vice versa!”
The two guys stared at Relena,
“WHAT?!” they both cried out at the same time.
But Relena didn’t notice them as
tears appeared on Thaliah’s eyes as she ran across the room to Relena and
hugged her. “Oh God! I thought you were dead!!! You don’t know how sad I
felt!!! That coffin!” she shivered.
Relena’s arm went around Thaliah
as she patted her back, smiling, her anger now gone…
“I’m sorry Thaliah… But, it was
just so quick… I didn’t have time to inform any of my friends…”
Thaliah moved away from Relena,
“You cut your hair…(Relena nodded and Thaliah smiled) It’s pretty… How did this
happen?”
“I’ll tell you later okay? Right
now, I want you to answer my question as to why you didn’t tell Quatre that you
were going to use an alias.”
Thaliah blushed as she looked at
Quatre, “Sorry Quatre… I was so excited that I was accepted, not because of the
Winner name that I forgot to tell you…”
Quatre shook his head. He knew
that she could sometimes be forgetful… He faced Trowa, “You’re going to have
your hands full with this one, Trowa.”
“Hey!!!” Thaliah quickly
retorted.
Trowa smiled, “That’s okay… I’m
gonna love every minute of it…”
Heero spoke up, “Winner name…?”
“Okay, somebody please tell me
what’s going on here!!!” Sally cried out.
Quatre smiled at Heero, “Heero
can you believe it!!! Thaliah Locklin is really my sister Thaliah!!!”
Heero frowned, “I knew I saw her
somewhere before…”
Thaliah nodded, “Of course!!! I
saw you with my brother when you had a meeting!”
“If you weren’t using the Winner
name… and you were using Locklin… you must have had some help to deceive the
school… I mean, I didn’t have to deceive the board with Trowa… he was easy… but
with yours…” Heero’s voice trailed…
Relena coughed and her husband
looked at her… “I was the one who helped Thaliah get in…”
Heero frowned, “You?!”
Duo laughed, “I guess you two
think alike more than we think you do!!! Imagine putting their friends in the
exact same school!”
“It’s true, Heero.” Trowa
answered for Relena. “When I hacked into the school records, looking for all
the information that were supposed to be for Thaliah, most information was not
given, or if it was, it was in Relena’s name… I suppose it was her influence
that made it possible…”
Heero looked at Relena with a
smile. “Didn’t think that you’d do something like that…”
Relena shrugged nonchalantly,
but with a smile, “You didn’t give me a chance until later on.” She answered.
“So true, Relena!” Hilde added,
vouching for her friend.
Thaliah looked from Heero to
Relena and smiled… It doesn’t take much to deduce that these two are very much
in love… Is this the guys that she’s talked of waiting for…? It should be…
after all, she did say that she wouldn’t ever take someone else other than him…
Her glance came across her wedding ring and her smile widened… ‘Yep, they do
have a lot of catching up to do, after this…’
Sally looked from one person to
another… “Someone had better tell me what is going on here soon and fast!”
Everybody turned to grin at Sally
but stopped as they heard a slight groan from the bed…
The whole room became quiet as
they rushed to the bed and looked down at Wufei whose eyes were slowly moving…
Then… he opened his unfocused eyes…
“Becky…?” his hoarse whispery
voice slowly said.
“She’s asleep…” Quatre said
softly happy that he’s finally awake…
Everyone had one thought in
their mind… ‘He’s going to stay with us!’
“Is… she… alright?” he asked
weakly…
“Yes, she is… she’s just
resting.” Sally replied.
Wufei frowned and after a few
more moments of silence, he spoke once again, “Sally…?”
“Yes, Wufei. I’m here.” Sally
answered quickly, thought with concern.
“I… have… to talk to … you
soon…” then with that he fell asleep once again…
Every one looked at each other,
seeing the hope and happiness reflected on each other’s face.
“He’s going to make it… I knew
it.” Trowa exclaimed.
“Yup! That old dingbat sure
will… But I can’t still figure out which girl he likes! Becky or Sally…” Duo
said in a light tone… Just teasing because from what Wufei’s first sentences
were, he was asking about how Rebecca is doing…
Everyone looked at Duo and
groaned at his pathetic joke, but still had smiles on their faces…
Suddenly, Heero saw a glint in
Duo’s eyes.
“Er… you guys… excuse me a
minute… I’m just gonna’ get somethin’” he said as he ran out of the door.
The others looked at each other.
“I’ve got a feeling he’s
planning something…” Hilde said cautiously.
The others looked at each other
once again and knew that they were thinking the same thing… Whatever it is you
can be sure it’s going to be something…
Relena sighed. “Do you guys want
to wake up Rebecca and tell her the news?”
Aria and Sally looked at each
other.
“Well, Dr. Walker?” Sally asked
with a smile, already aware what Aria’s role in this is…
Aria smiled, “I’m thinking the
same thing you’re thinking, Dr. Poe.”
The girls all looked at each
other, “Let’s go!” they announced happily, not able to contain their happiness
and share it with Rebecca.
They walked out of the room,
leaving the guys each with an eyebrow raised.

The girls quietly filed in the
room and looked at the bed.
“I don’t think I want to wake
her up…” Hilde whispered as she looked at the peacefully sleeping woman.
“Same here…” Relena added.
“Well… I could wait…” Sally said
as she started to walk to a chair.
“I’ve got time.” Aria and
Thaliah both said at the same time grinned at each other then took a seat.
“I just don’t know what Wufei
wants to talk to me about…” Sally said her thought out loud.
The girls all kept quiet, not
knowing what to answer, and each lost in their own thought, though happier than
the last time…
Rebecca slowly came through her
restful sleep… Her eyes opened and she remembered everything that happened just
a while ago. Slowly, she sat up and was surprised to see the girls around her
room… She noticed a new face.
“Is there something wrong…? Why
is everybody here?” she groggily asked
“Hey there.” Aria greeted with a
smile, “You’re finally awake.”
Rebecca frowned, “Did I sleep
too long?”
Sally shook her head, “I’d make
you sleep longer if I could-”
“We just wanted to say something
to you!” Hilde cut in with a grin.
She could see everyone’s happy
faces and couldn’t stop herself from smiling herself.
“Well? Are you going to tell
me…?”
Everybody grinned and was about
to speak when Rebecca put up a hand to stop them…
“But… before you do…” she looked
at Thaliah with inquiry.
“Oh!” Relena exclaimed while
Thaliah smiled at Rebecca. Relena took Thaliah’s hand and pulled her nearer to
Rebecca.
“Rebecca Neill, meet Thaliah
Winner. She’s one of Quatre’s sisters.”
Rebecca nodded with a smile.
“One of the 29, right?”
Thaliah smiled, she likes this
girl… “Yup…the youngest of all 29 girls.”
“And Trowa’s girlfriend.” Hilde
piped up.
Rebecca’s eyes widened with
delightful surprise. “Wow! I’m happy that you’re finally here… Trowa has been
very kind to me. And I know I’ve only known him for a few days… but I really
thought that he had something on his mind…”
Thaliah blushed, “Well… we just
worked out our problems today…”
“That’s good…” then she faced
the others, “Okay, why are all of you smiling?”
The girls all spoke up at the
same time.
“You’ll never believe it!”
“Guess what!”
“Wufei’s just woken up!”
“But he’s asleep again!”
Rebecca stilled as only one
sentence registered in her mind… ‘Wufei just woke up…’ She breathed a
sigh of relief. ‘Oh Wufei…’ she thought, not caring that the woman in front of
her, Sally, might be someone that Wufei loves… all that she knows is she loves
him and she just wants him to be alive…
The girls hushed at the sudden
thoughtful look on Rebecca’s face.
“Hey are you okay?” Relena asked
softly.
“I thought you’d be happier…”
Aria said at the same time.
Rebecca looked up and smiled at
her new found unique friends… “Oh don’t worry about me… I am happy… I guess
I’ve been too emotional with all the stuff that has been happening lately…” she
apologized.
“Hey… don’t apologize… I’m
actually surprised that you’re still in one piece.” Grinned Sally, “Maybe you
do have a chance in turning Wufei around…”
Rebecca looked at her with a
frown… Sally just wished her luck with Wufei…?
Sally noticed the frown and
remembered what the others had told her just a while ago… “I really don’t know
what Wufei wants to talk to me about… But, what I can honestly tell you is that
there has never been anything between us…”
Rebecca’s lips softly smiled at
Sally’s words. “Sally… All I want is Wufei to be happy… whether it be that this
will happen only with you or if he leaves alone.”
Sally smiled as she added, “Or
with you…”
Rebecca looked at Sally, wanting
to be sure that she was aware of what she had said and found her smiling at
her.
The room went silent for a while
until they heard a stomach growl… Rebecca blushed as she looked down at her stomach…
“Er… I think that was me…”
The girls smiled, the mood
lightened… They just know that everything will turn out great.
“Well, you haven’t been eating
very much!” Aria scolded, “No wonder you fainted!”
“Well, let’s go then and invite
the others if they want to go eat a late lunch with us.” Relena announced then
looked over at Rebecca and added,
“It’s going to be take-out… I’m
sure that we all want to be here when Wufei wakes up again…”
“I’ll do it!” Hilde and Thaliah
said at the same time.
Hilde smiled at Thaliah. “Let’s
go then…” and the two started walking to the door.
“By the way, my name is Hilde…”
“Hi Hilde…hmmm…” Thaliah frowned
as she remembered something her brother had told her once… “Are you Duo’s
partner…?”
Hilde blushed while Thaliah
laughed.
“What I meant was business
partner but I guess it could be used both ways, eh?” she said, laughing while
she closed the door.

45 minutes later, Duo came back
to the room. All three guys looked at him while he grinned mischievously.
“Okay Duo… What are you up to?”
Heero asked already wanting to be cautious.
Duo gave an innocent smile while
he pointed at himself, “Hmm? Meeeh? I’m not doing anything…” he said while he
stood behind the hospital door with his hands behind him.
Trowa looked at how Duo’s hands
were still hiding behind him, “Duo, what are you holding behind you?”
Duo’s eyebrows shot up, “Aww…
Guys! Come on! Don’t you trust me?” he said as walked towards them and took his
hands out and showed that he’s not holding anything…
Quatre frowned. “Well… Maybe
we’re just paranoid or something because you definitely look like you’re up to
something…”
Duo grinned, “If I am, its for
the best.”
Heero, Quatre and Trowa looked
at each other… ‘Uh-oh…’
Suddenly, the girls came in.
“You took your time.” Trowa said
to Thaliah while she smiled at him.
“The girls were wondering if you
want to eat a late lunch in here… Take out.” Thaliah announced to the others.
“Yeah, so we won’t have to leave
Wufei, you know, be here if he wakes up.” Hilde added.
The boys shrugged, “Fine with
me…” they all said at the same time.
“Okay. Good!” Thaliah exclaimed,
“I’ll go get some Chinese food then. I know this one good place…”
“I’ll go with her!” Trowa piped
up.
Quatre smiled at the two while
they went out the door… He still can’t quite believe that it’s Trowa and his
sister… He always wanted Trowa to be a big brother… now… Quatre grinned, ‘There
is a very good chance…’

Thirty minutes later, there was
a small feast in B417 as three bags of Chinese delicacies were heaped up on a
foldable table that Quatre asked for from the utilities department.
“Hey Rebecca,” Duo said with a
mouthful of chow mien.
Rebecca glanced at Duo with a
smile while she picked up some more orange chicken.
“What’d you do to Wufei, anyway?
I mean, man! That dude was cold to women! Then all of a sudden, the first
person he asks for is you!”
The girls smiled while Rebecca
looked confused. She knew that Wufei woke up… but no one told her that he was
asking for her…
“What do you mean, Duo?” she
asked with a frown.
Duo looked at her closer, “You
mean to tell me that they didn’t tell you?”
“Tell me what?”
Relena smiled while Thaliah
giggled.
Hilde spoke up. “What we didn’t
tell you was that when he was conscious, the first word he spoke was your
name.”
“Awww….” The girls all said,
touched. They watched Rebecca’s eyes grow wide in surprise and disbelief, look
at everyone around the table then looked at Wufei…
“You guys are kidding…” she
tried to joke, not wanting her hopes to be shattered. What they said just
touched her… to have Wufei think of her first…
They kept silent.
“Aren’t you…?” she asked again
and no one answered. She looked over at Relena and Heero then at Quatre and
Aria… then to the others who are all smiling at her softly…
A small smile appeared on
Rebecca’s face. “Thank you…” she whispered as she looked at her food.
Trowa cleared his throat… “Well,
the food is getting cold…”
“Oh yeah! Dig in! Duck isn’t
good when it’s cold!” Duo exclaimed and the festive mood returned.
Rebecca was about to take some
beefsteak when she accidentally collided with Thaliah’s hand, holding a
soupspoon.
“Oh!”
“Oh! Sorry Rebecca!” Thaliah
exclaimed.
Rebecca shook her head. “No! I’m
sorry…” she stood up from the group, “I’ll just wash up, okay?” and she left
the room to quickly go to the restroom.
Sally was looking over at Wufei
when she thought she saw him move… She left the table to walk over to him and
saw him frowning… Then slowly open his eyes and blink…
Sally smiled… ‘I knew it’ll take
more than a few gunshots to take you down…’ she thought proudly.

Wufei frowned… He could smell
delicious food that reminds him of his hometown… He could hear people gaily
speaking… ‘Is there a celebration…? Where’s Rebecca…?’
He slowly opened his eyes,
blinked a few times and then saw Sally.
He frowned… ‘Sally… but… where’s
Becky…?’
“Hi… Sally. Where’s Rebecca…?”
he said weakly.
The others stopped in mid bite
as they heard Wufei. They quickly looked at Sally and Wufei and scrambled
towards them.
“Hey Wufei! My man! How was the
relaxing sleep?” Duo asked as he reached him.
Wufei grimaced.
“Wufei… are you feeling any
better?” Quatre added while Heero and the others just looked at him.
“Where is Becky…?” Wufei asked
once again as he saw everybody’s faces but not hers.
“I’ll get her!” Thaliah answered
and quickly went out of the room.
Sally spoke up, “Wufei, if you
feel that you can talk, how about telling me why you need to talk to me?” her
curiosity getting a hold of her.
Wufei looked at Sally and for
the first time, Heero and the others actually saw the usually scowling pilot
show a slight smile…!
“Sally… I was in China, trying
to find anyone related to myself and my clan…”
Sally nodded, yet she still
doesn’t understand.
Wufei licked his dry lips and
spoke once again, “Your grandfather was… a part of my clan… He left to marry
your grandmother…”
Sally’s jaw slightly dropped
open while her eyes widened.
The others stared from Sally to
Wufei in disbelief.
Sally shook her head… Wufei doesn’t
need to say anymore… She’s been looking for her relatives also but never found
the ones on her father’s side…
“Sally… I was surprised as you
probably are right now… when I learned that you are a kin…”
Sally’s smile was genuine as she
looked down at Wufei. “I’m proud to say that you are my kin, Wufei…” she
whispered.
The door opened and Thaliah came
in with a wide-eyed Rebecca.
Sally looked over at Rebecca and
her smile widened then she looked back down at Wufei.
“Wufei, Rebecca’s here.” She
whispered, “We’ll leave you two alone…”
She motioned for the others to
move out, and to the others utmost surprise, Duo was the first one zooming out
of the door!
Duo quickly went down the
nursing office.
“Excuse me, but I asked to leave
a package here earlier…”
The nurse smiled as she fished
out a black case. “Is this it?”
Duo smiled widely as he saw it.
“Yes. That’s it!” He reached for it just as the nurse passed it to him.
“Thanks!” then he rushed back upstairs and saw the others already going inside
Rebecca’s room…
“Hehehe…” Duo couldn’t help the
laugh that escaped his lips as he sat down on the chair outside Rebecca’s room.
He took out a box from the case and opened it, taking out a 10 by 5 inch
monitor and started pushing some buttons…
His smile became pure delight as
he saw the monitor focus…

Wufei forced his head to tilt
down to look at Rebecca as she slowly walked to him.
Wufei smiled… ‘She’s alright…’
he thought and frowned slightly at the patch of bandage on her right forehead,
remembering how she got it. ‘Except for that…’
Rebecca reached Wufei and
falteringly smiled down at him, trying to stop herself from crying.
“Hey Wufei…” she greeted softly.
“Becky…” he whispered.
She placed her hands on the cot,
wanting to touch him, but afraid that he might not like it…
“I’m glad that you’re awake…”
Wufei grimaced… “I feel like a
hundred pins are pricking my whole body and my headache…” he complained.
A nervous short laugh escaped
Rebecca’s lips at his complain.
Wufei frowned… there’s something
wrong and he doesn’t know what it is… Why is Rebecca so… distant…?
“Becky… is there anything
wrong?” he asked in his weak voice.
Rebecca shook her head, just
happy that he’s saying her name… Happy to see his Chinese eyes open, happy that
he’s complaining…
“Nothing’s wrong now, Wufei…
You’re awake, and that’s all that matters…” she whispered as she looked away.
Wufei looked down at her still
hands beside him on the cot and forced his own hand to move. Slowly, he was
able to reach her hand and hold it. Rebecca looked at the bed and saw his hand
over hers, and slowly looked up to his face, her eyes clouding with tears.
“Becky… there is something
wrong… what is it…?”
Rebecca shook her head, not
wanting to cry… If she opens her mouth to speak, she knew that her tears would
fall.
Wufei felt sadness encompass
him… “Becky… please, tell me… I don’t want you to shut me out… you seem too…
distant…”
Rebecca swallowed hard as she
looked at the man she fell in love with, searching his face… ‘I’ve known you so
little time… I really have no idea what is in your heart and mind… and yet, I
trust you and I love you, Wufei… I’ve come to known you… your courage and
passion…’ Rebecca turned away from him, tears pricking her eyes…
Wufei sighed, “Rebecca… I’m…I
was a gundam pilot… a rebel… and now, I am an agent…”
Rebecca moistened her lips. She
knows all that now… but- “Why are you telling me all these Wufei…?”
Wufei looked away then glanced
back at Thaliah. “I know that I’ve never been the one to listen… and I know that…
I haven’t been nice to you… (Rebecca shook her head at this statement and
mouthed the word ‘no’ but Wufei continued) But…” Wufei breathed in deeply, “I…
I care about you a lot Rebecca…”
Rebecca bit her lip.
Wufei frowned, “No… that’s not
true…” he said faintly remembering his seemingly unending dreams, repeating
itself, some with Rebecca and he’s happy… others without her.
“I… I fell in love with you… I
am in love with you…”
Rebecca gasped and the tears in
her eyes started to fall… She felt pure bliss and she couldn’t speak…
“Becky, I want you to know me…
And I want to know everything about you… Just… just give me a chance to win
your love…”
Rebecca leaned over the bed and
hugged him lightly, afraid for his wounds. “Wufei… you don’t need me to give
you a chance… I’m already in love with you…” she whispered.
Wufei stared down at the
redheaded woman on his chest in disbelief, then a smile appeared on his face.
“Are you sure about that?”
Rebecca nodded. “Definitely…”
Wufei sighed contently. “Good… because
I will ask you to marry me sometime in the future, when you and I are
ready and know each other well enough… I don’t want the same thing that
happened to me before with Merian repeat itself.”
Rebecca jerked her head up at
the word ‘marry’ and looked at Wufei with a question and disbelief in her eyes.
Wufei smiled down at her and
nodded and then Rebecca hugged him once more.
“You better be sure about that,
Wufei… because this woman isn’t someone who’ll just let you go…”
A soft laugh escaped his lips.
“Yes… I’m sure about that… onna…” then he suddenly grew serious. “Could you
possibly kiss me now?”
Rebecca laughed and leaned up
lightly pressing her lips against his, then drew back.
Wufei almost followed her lips,
if he could have. He frowned instead. “What was that about!” he demanded in his
strongest voice.
Rebecca smiled, “You need your
rest, and that’s all the kiss you’ll get… When you’re better…” she trailed off,
trying to stop her laughter from escaping at Wufei’s furious look.

Heero frowned as he looked at
his watch… ‘Why isn’t Duo here? Where did he go…?’ It’s been 15 minutes since
he zoomed off from Wufei’s room… and now…
Heero stood up, “I’m going to
look for Duo, alright?”
Hilde nodded, “Thanks Heero… I’m
wondering where he’s gone off to…”
Heero walked to the door, opened
it and frowned as he saw Duo sitting just beside Rebecca’s door.
With his back to Heero, hunched
over something on his lap and seemingly oblivious to the fact that someone is
behind him, Duo’s face came nearer to the monitor.
“Come on, man! You’re too slow!”
he whispered in a coaching voice…
Heero frowned, ‘Huh?’ Confused,
he forgot to close the door as he asked Duo-
“What are you doing, Duo?”
Duo nearly jumped out of his
skin and then slowly faced Heero with a guilty smile while trying to hide
something from his friend.
“Er… Heero! How long have you
been here?” Duo squeaked out.
The people inside the room
frowned as they looked at Heero, framed by the doorway, and talking to… Duo.
“Duo, what are you hiding?”
Quatre frowned as he started to
walk towards the door. The others followed.
Duo’s eyes widened as everyone
filed out of the room, looking at him curiously.
“Duuuuooooo!” Hilde’s voice rang
out and Duo gulped.
Sighing, he made his decision.
Duo turned around and showed the others the monitor…
“What is that?!” Quatre asked,
pointing at the small screen.
“This is the newest technology
that Heero’s company, Quazer, and my company is going to invest in…” Duo
started as he turned the monitor around and showed the others a clear colored
picture of Wufei lying on the cot with Rebecca beside him…
“Oooohh…ooohhh…They’re holding
hands!!!” Quatre cried out in disbelief. Everyone suddenly crowded around the
monitor…
“Ooohh!!! That is so sweet!”
Thaliah exclaimed as she looked at the couple on the monitor.
Relena forced herself to look
away, “Duo… don’t you think it’s wrong, doing this? I mean, we’re spying on a
very private moment…”
“… I care about you a lot
Rebecca…”
Wufei’s voice, carried out in
full volume by the monitor, made everyone gasp and Relena went back to looking
at the monitor.
“Omigosh!!! I can’t believe
Wufei just said that!” Sally exclaimed.
Quatre and Trowa could only
stare in incredulity while Duo cheered him on.
“Yes! Go Wufei! You can do it
man!!! That girl’s gone through a lot for you! You better tell her that you
love her or else I’m gonna break your bones!”
“Ssshhh!!!” Aria hissed out.
They were waiting for it… those
words… but everyone was still shocked when they heard it come from Wufei’s
mouth…
“… I am in love with you…”
Even Duo couldn’t speak!
They watched the screen until
Rebecca gave Wufei a quick kiss and then Heero turned it off…
The girls sighed in delight.
“Finally! I was getting worried
for Rebecca!” Relena cried out…
“I can’t believe… Wufei actually
proposed…!” Quatre said in shock…
Trowa could only shake his head…
Duo was quickly typing in the
monitor and then he pressed a red button and placed it back, thinking that he
might be out of trouble since everyone did watch it with him…
“Duo, how did you hide the
camera?” Heero suddenly asked.
Duo grinned, “When I came in and
you guys thought I was up to something…”
Trowa frowned, “But you didn’t
have anything in your hands…”
Duo nodded. “I didn’t because I
already taped the bug behind the door while I was leaning on it.”
“So that’s what you were doing!”
Quatre finally said… then frowned, “Wait… We didn’t see anything on the door…”
Duo nodded, “That’s the fun
part… the camera is so small that you can only find it if you know where to
look!”
“Maxwell! You’re going to erase
that tape.” Heero commanded.
Duo’s face fell, “No!!! I meant
to give it as a wedding present! So nobody should talk about it!!!”
Everyone looked at everybody
else and no one spoke…
After a few more seconds, Sally
spoke.
“I didn’t see anything…”
Everyone muttered their
agreement…
Duo sighed, “Thanks you guys…”
and started to stand up but then Heero held his shoulder, forcing him back
down.
“Why did you put that bug in the
room?”
Everyone stared once again at
Duo who looked at the case on his lap.
“I… I didn’t want Rebecca to
miss another time that Wufei wakes up…”
Hilde smiled as she went over to
Duo. “That’s very sweet of you…” She said as she hugged him while Heero let him
go, accepting the excuse.
Suddenly, the door in front of
them opened and Rebecca came outside.
She frowned curiously as she saw
everyone in a semi-circle around Duo, but then, she shrugged it off and smiled
at them.
“Hey guys! Wufei wants to see
all of you!”
Everyone cheered and smiled as
they filed inside room… A few moments later, thankfully, no one was able to
hear, a shout echoed inside the room….
“WHAT?!!! BUT YOU’RE DEAD!!!”
A month later:
“Woman! Stop babying me!!!”
Wufei cried out in frustration.
Rebecca was about to retort when
she stopped herself, smiled down at Wufei instead and kissed him on the lips,
then moved away quickly before his arms could go around her waist.
“Oh… that’s too bad… If you
don’t want me babying you then I can’t possibly do that!”
Duo laughed out loud, “And score
another point for Rebecca!!! Wufei! You’re loosing your touch man!”
“And you’re gonna loose your
dessert if you don’t stop teasing Wufei, Duo!” Hilde scolded.
Duo’s mouth opened and closed
while Wufei smirked.
“Women…” Duo muttered.
Wufei frowned, “Hey Maxwell,
that’s my line!”
“I don’t care.” He answered back
as he watched Hilde and Rebecca go back inside Quatre’s back kitchen to help
out with the others.
Trowa and Heero looked over the
grill at each other with a grin on their faces.
“So, Trowa, having fun with your
new cycle?” Heero asked glancing behind them where his gift to Trowa is
situated under one of the trees.
Trowa smiled, “Oh yeah… Thanks
Heero. I had it delivered as soon as possible over here… Even Thaliah was
ecstatic about it.”
The back door opened and Quatre
came out with a platter of steaks.
“Here you go, guys…!” Quatre
announced as he placed the meat in front of the grill. Then gave a teasing grin
to Trowa, “Marinated with Thaliah’s best marinade.”
Trowa grinned back, “Then I’m
sure that it’s gonna be good.”
Heero gave one last glance over
to the kitchen window where Relena waved then started putting the steaks on top
of the barbeque grill, feeling confused… For the past few days… Relena has been
acting peculiar… But, that could just be his imagination…

Relena turned back to the other
girls in the kitchen and smiled, “You know what I’m craving for, Thaliah?”
Thaliah looked up from putting
the finishing touches on the cinnamon rolls. “What? I’m going to try to make
it…”
Relena grinned, “Thanks… I’m
craving for some pumpkin pies…”
Aria grimaced, “Yuck! I don’t
know how you guys could eat that stuff!”
Relena laughed, “I don’t know
either, I’m just craving for it…” she said as she turned back to the kitchen
and started washing some of the dishes.
Rebecca closed the refrigerator
door and faced Thaliah. “One batch of onion leaves coming at you, Thaliah!” she
cried out as she threw it to Thaliah.
Thaliah turned around and caught
it. Everyone clapped and cheered and she bowed.
“Thank you! Thank you! It’s all
in the wrist.”
“Yeah sure! Tell that to Duo
when he’s playing basketball!” Hilde joked and everybody laughed.
“Hey guys! I’m here!” Sally
announced as she came inside the kitchen with a basket of fruits.
She went over to each of the
girls and hugged them…
“I didn’t think you’d be able to
wrench yourself from work!” Relena said as Sally hugged her.
“I threatened them that I’d ask
Wufei to bomb the research center if they won’t let me go.” She joked.
Laughter rang once again around
the kitchen.
“Too bad that Noin can’t join
us.” Suddenly, Sally frowned as she looked at Relena… She hasn’t seen the girls
for over three weeks already… and everyone looks the same except for… “Rena,
did you cut your hair?”
Relena looked up from drying her
hands and shook her head while she smiled. “No, Sally, I didn’t…”
Sally’s frown deepened as she
tilted her head to one side, while the others stopped what they were doing to
watch the two.
“What is it Sally?” Aria asked.
Sally held out a hand to tell
them to wait. “Rena, turn around…”
Relena smiled and complied,
turning around, imitating a model. “Well? How do I do?”
“Ten!” Thaliah shouted and
everyone grinned.
Sally shook her head… “I can’t
put my finger on it… but there’s definitely something different about you…”
Sally’s voice trailed as she stared at Relena with wide eyes…
“You aren’t…” she started…
“What is it?” Hilde cried out,
already dying of curiousity…
Sally placed her hands on her
hips, “You’re pregnant, aren’t you…!”
The girls gasped, becoming
silent while they waited for Relena to answer.
Relena’s smile widened as she
looked from Sally to the others… and then nodded…
The girls started shrieking,
dropping what they were doing to congratulate Relena.

Outside:
All the boys looked over at the
kitchen with a frown as they heard the girls screaming.
Then they looked at each other
in confusion…
Duo spoke up, “They probably saw
a rat.”
Quatre shook his head quickly,
“There’s no rat in my house!!!”
Duo shrugged as he grinned, “A
mouse then, or a cockroach!”
Quatre shook his head, “No! No!
No! There’s just no way!!!”
Heero and Trowa looked at each
other and just shook their head, while Wufei wobbled over to them with a cane,
“Women! They’re too afraid of
everything!!!” he muttered.
Duo grinned mischievously, “But
hey! If there is something… The girls will all have to jump into our arms if we
get there right?!”
Quatre smiled as he got what
Duo’s thinking… “I’m with you Duo! Last one there is a rotten egg!!!”
“Hey no fair!!! This is
injustice!!! I cannot run! I have a cane!” Wufei said in almost a wail while
Trowa and Heero placed what they’re holding down on the sink, joining in with
Duo and Quatre.
“I’m not missing a chance to be
hugged by my Thaliah.” Trowa announced while Heero and Quatre grinned.
Then, the screaming died down…
“Aww, Man! They stopped!” Duo
sighed in frustration.
The men looked at each other and
then just shrugged as they went back to what they were doing…
“Must have been a false alarm.”
Quatre mumbled with a slight pout.
“I just hope no one was hurt in
there.” Heero said, his mind instantly going to Relena…

Half an hour later, the girls
started walking out of the kitchen carrying platefuls of food.
Duo’s mouth watered as he stared
at the feast in front of him. “Oooh boy! I can’t wait!” he sighed as he smelled
the delicious aroma.
Once they were seated, everybody
started eating to their heart’s content…

Later:
Quatre looked around his garden
and saw Hilde and Duo sitting beside the pool, Wufei and Rebecca under a shade,
sitting on a patio chair…
Then he grinned as he saw Trowa
and Thaliah having their own private picnic on the grass under the shade, and
smiled widely as his gaze fell on Heero and Relena who are lying under the
shade of a date tree, with Heero softly smoothing Relena’s hair… Sally, he
knows, is inside the kitchen, talking with Rashid…
Then, he looked beside him at
Aria who is snuggled beside him with a look of content on her face, looking
over at Heero and Relena…
“They look so happy together,
don’t you think so?” she said with a smile.
Quatre nodded, “Yeah… I always
wished that they’d find each other…”
“Well… you got your wish…” Aria
whispered as she looked up at Quatre.
Quatre’s arm tightened around
her, “Yep… I definitely got my wish…

Suddenly, all the girls noticed
Relena sit up in a kneeling position, looking down at Heero and talking…
They smiled and caught each
other’s eyes and winked, then turned on to their men…

Aria started circling her finger
over Quatre’s chest.
“Aria! Stop doing that!” Quatre
whispered, tormented at what this minx is doing to him…
Aria grinned as she looked up at
Quatre, “Quatre, darling… I want to have-”

Thaliah stopped kissing Trowa
and drew back, giggling when Trowa tried to catch her lips once again.
Trowa opened his eyes and
smiled. “Hey! No fair…”
Thaliah shrugged, “Oh well… I
wanted to ask you something first before I finish my kiss…” she said with a
mischievous glint in her eyes.
Trowa leaned back on the red and
white blanket, putting his hands behind his head. “Ask away and I’ll try to
give it to you…”
Thaliah leaned over to Trowa’s,
“Trowa… sweetheart… I want to have a-”

Duo sighed while he closed his
eyes, relishing the massage Hilde is giving him while his feet sloshed the
water in Quatre’s pool.
“Uhmm… that’s nice…” he
whispered.
Hilde leaned over his shoulder,
“Really..?”
Duo turned his head around and
stole a kiss on her lips then smiled, “Really…”
Hilde’s hands went around his
neck for an embrace. “Duo honey…”
“Yes, luv?”
“I want something…”
Duo sighed as he leaned
backwards, “Anything for you…”
Hilde smiled, “Honey… I want to
have-”

Rebecca leaned her head over
Wufei’s leg as she sat on the grass beside Wufei’s chair… Her hand started
drawing pictures on his stomach and Wufei grimaced.
“Rebecca, you better stop
torturing me…” he said in a low, hoarse voice.
Rebecca gave him an innocent
smile, “I’m not torturing you Wufei…”
Wufei grabbed for hand on his
stomach to still it, while he leaned over and kissed her forehead. “You are too
with what you’re doing…”
“Oh, I’m sorry…” she said with a
sad face… “I was wondering if I could ask you something…”
Wufei’s hand went to her cheek
and traced her lips to make her smile once again. “If it’s going to make you
happy… ask away… there’s no harm in asking…”
Rebecca smiled.
“Wufei… I want to have-”

Relena sat up away from Heero’s
frame and faced him in a kneeling position, looking down at him lovingly.
Heero gazed up at her blue eyes
adoringly.
“Is there anything you want to
tell me, Relena?” he asked as he remembered once again how she has been acting
strange the past couple of days…
Relena smiled and leaned
forward, as if to kiss Heero. “Heero dearest… Do you remember a certain time in
the hospital when I told you about the bear…?”
Heero nodded, not getting the
point. “Yeah…”
Relena smiled, knowing that he
doesn’t understand yet… “Heero… the teddy bear has a new owner now…”
Heero frowned, “You gave it
away? But I thought you wanted to give it to our children!” he exclaimed.
Relena laughed at his innocence…
“I didn’t give it away, Heero…”
Heero’s frown suddenly
disappeared as a grin appeared on his face…then he smiled as he felt like
jumping and he did, yelling out-
“I’M GOING TO BE A FATHER!!!”
While the others yelled at the
same time-
“WHAT?!!!! A BABY!!!!”
Duo slipped inside the pool when
he tried to stand, forgetting that his feet is in it, while Wufei nearly
toppled to the ground and Quatre and Trowa were standing in shock, looking down
at Aria and Thaliah…
Heero stared down at Relena…
finally comprehending the full meaning of the news…
“I’m… going… to…be… a… dad…?!”
he said once again, slowly… then, his eyes rolled back and he fell down in a
faint on the grass…
The girls all looked at each
other and started to laugh at the shocked expressions on the faces of their

having observed everything, she muttered with a smile, “Men, they’re too easy…”
as she watched Wufei trying to get himself up from the grass, Duo trying to get
out of the pool, Quatre and Trowa seemingly in a state of shock and Heero in a
dead faint…
‘Huh?!’ Sally looked once again
and saw Relena putting her husband’s head on her lap and fanning it with a soft
smile…
